DIY Homemade Candles

Hello friends! As I stated in my post earlier this week about buying your Christmas gifts from local shops, or even handmaking them (which you can find here) this year, I wanted to share with you one of my handmade gifts!

Candles:

microwaveable soy wax is easy to use, and add a package of candle wicking (both available at craft stores) and you're ready to get started!

Begin by choosing an interesting glass jar, holder or even a vintage tea cup

First, tape the tip of the wick into the middle of a drinking straw so that when you set the wick inside the jar, it is being levered by the straw

Next, you will need to place a chunk of wax (or if you bought shaved wax, that works too!) into a container and place in the microwave until in liquid form

You can then add RitDye to the melted wax to create a pretty color- I also used the RitDye to dye the ends of my tags

I also, added a vanilla and lavender scent as well (a few drops should do ya good!)

Pour the melted, colored, fragranced wax into your desired jar, with the straw holding the wick into place

You'll then need about 30 minutes to an hour for drying time

Once your candle is dry, garnish it with a pretty ribbon, and tag to signify who you made it for!

Easy as that, and makes a great little gift! Enjoy!
