One of my greatest friends, Kylie and I always try to attend every Boise event that pertains to our interest. We have done events from, Hyde Park street fair, Art in the Park, volunteer events for Planned Parenthood and the Women's Celebration Race. It's so nice to have a friend who loves volunteering and going to every single event! This past weekend, Kylie and I ran the "Race for the Cure" in honor of breast cancer survivors, and those who have passed away. We signed up for the 5k run, and let me tell you the experience I had was amazing. The weather was beautiful, crisp air, and over 16,000 people came out the run the race. Not only was there a large amount of community memebrs who ran the race, but thousands of volunteer memebers put the event together and helped cheer everyone on as well! Anyhow, we decided that we would branch out of the ordinary running outfit, and spice things up with a frilly tutu. We ventured out the JoAnn fabrics 10 minutes before they closed and grabbed all the materials needed to make a tutu. (Click here for a tutorial on how to make tutu's just like we did!) Our tutu's turned out so cute, and we even have some pictures to prove it!

The race was not only such an experience, but it was so fun to share it with such a good friend! Kylie is leaving this October to volunteer with Americorps for 10 months, and although I will be sad to lose my Boise event's buddy, I couldn't be more happy for someone with such a BIG heart to go out and help those in need. I am so proud of her!
Onto the next doo dad... I'm hungry, so here is a little food post.
SUMMER is among us here in Boise, and I always get this sudden urge to cook like crazy. I'm naturally a baker at heart, but once the weather is nice I'm all about hosting little get togethers and making fun snacks. Here is a tastey little sammich I really want to make sometime! And even that drink looks good too.

My mom sent me this link this afternoon and I just about DIED. When it comes to blogging, it can get really time consuming, but also an extremely organized ability you have to hold. Think about all the ideas you have running through your head on a daily basis, everytime you come across a blog *zink* another idea pops in your head. So, why not keep it organized and create a little space for yourself to write down all your ideas. Here is the link, in which you can print off the amazing "weekly blog calander" right here, yes here!
Another hot topic to this post is NEON. That's right, I can't resist the vibrance these colors give off and how the outfits are so daring, as well as the make-up! I especially can't get enough of the neon/neutral mix. My roommate recently got some nude colored nailpolish, and I adore it. I really think this neon nude mix is going to be a BIG hit in the fashion world.

Does the outfit in the far left picture look familiar? Katy Perry wore it for her front cover of Elle magazine a few months back. |
