The new kid on the block

I've been getting quite a few e-mails from friends and followers asking for advice on blogging. And let me tell you, I am honored! Being a new blogger myself, it is great to be looked up to, as I know I am not the most popular or most talented. I do love what I do, and I love writing, creating and sharing it all with you. Even if I only have a small number of followers, I am glad to share it with who ever! So, the point of this post is to give some enlightenment so new bloggers who are becoming frustrated with the blogging world, and what blogging really entails. Now remember, I am not a skilled blogger myself, I am taking the course and learning it all along the way just as you are! Here are some important tips that I like to remember:

1. Be yourself! When I blog, I am usually blogging about my life, things I find interesting, or things I create. You don't have to be someone else in the blog world, because your followers are following YOU, because they love your style.

2. Keep it original. Don't try, right from the get go to be a champion blogger. It takes time, and it takes effort to get noticed, and to learn how blogger itself really works. Soon you will become familiar with style, HTML, and promoting yourself in a classy manner.

3. Get socialized. If you want to be noticed, you've got to get your name out there. It is all about marketing, and promoting your blog! Join twitter, facebook, bloglovin, google reader, etc. Whatever it may be, get out there and make your blog known. But please, when trying to promote, do not BEG for followers, it looks messy and needy. Be classy about it, your followers will come.

4. Have a blast! When blogging, have fun, get creative, be silly. When you are creating posts think of things that you would like to read. What kinds of posts are your favorite bloggers posting? And why do you enjoy them.

5. Be creative. When creating your blog, make it YOU. Design it the way that you would like it to be. If you are struggling with designing or templates as for help. While there are many companies, and freelance bloggers out there that can design them for you, it really is simple to do it yourself. And it doesn't take any fancy editing tools.

So, there you have it! It's as easy as 1, 2, 3... or in this case 1,2,3,4,5. If you ever need help, inspiration, design help or guidance, ask me! I would love to keep hearing from new bloggers, and even veteran bloggers. Just remember it takes time to learn, to become known, and to understand it all!
